The brilliant work of three of our volunteers – Debora Hughes, Marion Seymour and Sue McCormack – was recognised at the WAM Get Involved volunteer awards presentation on 20 September. All three were shortlisted and received certificates of appreciation.

All three have done tremendous work for Family Friends, working with families in the Windsor and Maidenhead area and have helped make a big difference to peoples’ lives.

So, a big thank you from us to all three, and a big thank you also to all of our other amazing volunteers who give up their time to help the families we work with.

Katherine Cook, Family Friends volunteer coordinator, said: “We were delighted to see the borough recognise three of our terrific volunteers, who have spent many, many hours giving crucial support to families in their spare time. Deborah, Marion, and Sue deserve enormous praise for the hard work that they have done, and it was excellent to see how happy they were to be getting this recognition. Our volunteers are the backbone of what we do and each and everyone makes a huge difference to the lives of families they support.”

Katherine added that anyone wishing to join us as a volunteer could come to an induction and training day on November 6th.

“We’re looking for more volunteers and would love to see you there,” she said. “It’s a rewarding experience getting involved as a volunteer for Family Friends and you’ll gain lots from it, including training and getting to meet new people.”
